Spending our days, searching for smiles.

In 2011, my tiny little daughter wanted a crochet toy sold only online. I tried for months to grab one for her, but they would sell out immediately and she would be disappointed… month after month. After getting frustrated repeatedly, I thought to myself, “Self! We shall learn to crochet so this child has a toy of her very own!”

As with most willy-nilly ideas, I had no clue to how to proceed and create said toy. YouTube wasn’t an option back in the old days and I only had a trusty book to guide me in my efforts. Unfortunately, I am not a learner by picture book type person and it took me months to crochet a couple of rows that were not a bunch of knots and a mess. I threw away my “project” several times. Who knew you could be so angry with yarn? Somehow I persevered and created a …thing. It wasn’t round. It wasn’t pretty. But it was.

Elated at what I had accomplished, I set out to create more. More random roundish things emerged. Eventually I sought a name, what shall these rouge critters be called? By stringing together syllables and making up silly words, I finally settled on “Galarples!”

The name, much like the work, often makes no sense. But Galarples, in name and in deed are a unique breed that strives to brighten the world and be a friend to all. We love you. We love supporting all things happy and want to see joy, love, and peace spread like confetti.

Over the years Galarples have evolved from crochet toys to an all-encompassing brand that includes artwork and toys… with the eventuality of opening our own toy store with fun and exciting things to delight the senses!
